They are needed for both weekday and weekend masses. Church Requirements for Participation Length of Commitment: Sacristans come 20 minutes before mass so your tasks are completed before the majority of the people have arrived. Training is provided either by Joann, the deacon, or by working with another trained sacristan. One year. This must be renewed each year on the "Connections" form in order to continue to be scheduled.
