Cambodian School Project
Description of Activity:
This is a privately run organization formed to assist poor children in rural Cambodia. Board members (two Cambodians, two Americans, and a New Zealander) have long been involved with the Cambodian community in Madison Wisconsin. Since 1997, they have been supplying school clothes and supplies to farm children in Siem Reap Province.

History of group at Resurrection: Donations Also Support:
Parishioners Steve and Cathey Strange got involved with the Project when the Madison group began collecting contributions from American churches and individuals. Steve and Cathey shared with the Social Concerns Committee how beneficial this project is and encouraged our parish to support it during Lent 2006.
  • building two-room schools
  • helping village to build their own schools
  • providing teachers with a new set of clothes, textbooks, and musical instruments
  • drilling a deep water well that serves the whole village
  • building bathrooms
  • adding a vocational training component to the school.
