2012 Diocesan Appeal at Church of the Resurrection

The Annual Diocesan Appeal reminds us of another way to respond as disciples who gratefully and generously respond to the call to be good stewards in our parish, our diocese, our world.

FEBRUARY 19, FROM THE PASTOR:

"This Sunday we begin The Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA) for the Diocese of Winona. This appeal provides major support for the life-changing programs and ministries throughout the Diocese of Winona. The theme of the Annual Diocesan Appeal is In Christ Alone. Why? Every aspect of the Annual Diocesan Appeal is driven by one motivation—our desire to live as Jesus did—to stand firm in our faith, our hope, our strength and our Salvation—which comes from Christ alone. The ADA makes a significant difference in the Church, in our communities, and in the world around us by supporting Catholics and others in their lifelong journey of faith. The total Goal for the 2012 ADA is $1,949,000. Our goal this year is $80,250 or an increase of three per cent from our goal of 2011. Last year we had an excellent year and exceeded our goal by over twenty thousand dollars and had over 27 per cent participation by all households in the parish. Because of your participation all of the excess money was rebated back to us by the Diocese to use for the repair and replacement of the roofs. This year we hope to use any excess we get back to put a new sidewalk in connecting our driveway to the corner of the property we purchased last year south of the berm on Spruce Meadow Lane. Again, prayerfully consider a gift that would help the Bishop continue the ministry of the Diocese and us to be good stewards of our parish and diocese. " - Fr. Kevin Connolly
