Spirit of wisdom and understanding, 
enlighten our minds in these challenging economic times.

Spirit of right judgment and courage, guide us and make us firm in
our baptismal decision to follow Jesus' way of love.

Spirit of knowledge and reverence,
help us to see the lasting value of justice and mercy
in our everyday encounters with one another.

May we respect each other, as we recognize,
respond, and offer assistance through your Spirit.

In the name of Jesus, may we work to solve the problems
in our families, our nation, and our economy.

Let us pray for those in our parish and community
who are in need of our love and support.

Spirit of hope, guide those in need of assistance
with strength and courage to reach out for
the help available to them. 

Spirit of God, spark our faith, hope, and love
into new action each day.
Fill our lives with wonder and awe in your
presence, which penetrates all creation.
